WHO I THINK WILL GET AN EMMY NOMINATION:
- Arrested Development (Netflix)
- 30 Rock (NBC)
- The Big Bang Theory (CBS)
- Girls (HBO)
- Modern Family (ABC)
- Veep (HBO)
COLD HARD LOCKS: Everything, but Arrested Development
The other five shows got nominated last year, and I just think Netflix model + the hype surrounding Arrested Development + the fact it was a past nominee will all but guarantee the quirky comedy a nomination.
WHAT I'M PROBABLY WRONG ABOUT: New Girl
The only other comedy that could realistically come close to earning a nomination is the FOX comedy New Girl. In terms of quality, New Girl was FAR superior to A.D. is every imaginable way. Even critics who enjoyed the FOX run of Arrested Development far better than I ever did would agree with that sentiment. Normally, I would go with my heart and have quality won out, but Emmy voters don't work that way

OBVIOUS "SNUB": New Girl
Even though New Girl was a smash hit last year, it didn't earn a nomination, and I don't think it will this year either. I can understand the Emmys snubbing Parks and Rec, because the Emmys are used to snubbing what isn't popular. However, leaving out New Girl, which is BOTH popular and hysterical, seems beyond me. That being said, it's entirely possible that New Girl takes a huge step up this year earning both a Best Actor nomination for Jake Johnson as well as a this nomination, leaving Arrested Development in the dust. Considering how amazing Season 2 of New Girl was, and how disappointing the Netflix version of Arrested Development was, I don't think there would be much outrage over that decision. That being said, I'll take the show that was nominated three times (and has one win) over the non-rookie show that has never earned a nomination before.
