2013 Emmy Predictions and Hopefuls: Best Actor (Drama)

WHO I THINK WILL GET AN EMMY NOMINATION:

- Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad)
- Damian Lewis (Homeland)
- Jon Hamm (Mad Men)
- Jonathan Rhys (The Americans)
- Kevin Spacey (House of Cards)
- Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire)

COLD HARD LOCKS: Cranston, Hamm, Lewis, Buscemi

PRETTY GOOD EDUCATED GUESS: Kevin Spacey (Emmys LOVE movie stars)

WHAT I'M PROBABLY WRONG ABOUT: Matthew Rhys

I think the Emmys reward The Americans with the acting categories, and Rhys most certainly deserves praise. Even when I didn't care for The Americans, I always liked Rhys. He's gotten a crap ton of award buzz already, and to be honest, I don't know who the Emmys would vote for if it weren't Rhys? Hugh Bonneville for Downton Abbey? Probably. Michael C. Hall for Dexter? Absolutely not.

WHO I THINK THE NOMINEES SHOULD BE:

- Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad)
- Jon Hamm (Mad Men)
- Jonathan Rhys (The Americans)
- Kevin Spacey (House of Cards)
- Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire)

- Timothy Olyphant (Justified)

OBVIOUS "SNUB": Timothy Olyphant

Justified is clearly on the Emmy's radar. Walton Goggins (who played Boyd Crowder) has gotten nominated before, and Margo Martindale (who played Mags Bennett in Season 2) has won before. Yet for some reason, the FX show and its lead star are nowhere to be found. I think Justified has been the best show of 2013, think it's an incredible show in general, and a lot of that has to do with Olyphant's Raylan Givens.

Do you think Damian Lewis deserves to be a repeat winner over Bryan Cranston or Jon Hamm?
